Tunes with Toddlers


Toddlers and parents/care givers join together to make music using
instruments, singing, movement, and finger play songs to support social
skills and pre-academics such as colors, numbers, shapes, and letters.  This
group will offer interactive learning through song and movement.  All abilities welcome.

Teacher Bio:

Emily Stewart is the newest member of the Music To Grow On, Music Therapy Services team.  Emily Stewart graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy. She additionally earned a Cello Pedagogy Certificate by completing pedagogical studies with the CSU cello professor Barbara Thiem. She enjoyed playing in a variety of musical ensembles through college, including duets, jazz quintets, opera pits, string quartets, and the CSU symphony. Emily completed her Music Therapy internship at the Milwaukee Center for Independence serving adults with developmental disabilities under the supervision of Andrew Neary and three other music therapists. At MCFI, she completed a case study investigating the use of a speech cueing method with an adult with Autism Spectrum Disorder.


Emily has experience working with infants, children, and adults with various disabilities, including Down Syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Cerebral Palsy, Traumatic Brain Injury, Parkinson’s Disease, Alzheimer’s Disease, Dementia, and Developmental Delays. Emily plays several musical instruments including cello, guitar, piano, Autoharp, ukulele, and Native American flute. She enjoys reading and writing research articles and learning new guitar techniques, and hopes to pursue a Master’s Degree in the future.

BALLET: Introduction to basic ballet positions of feet, arms, and head. Emphasis on body posture and rhythm.

Youth Summer Theatre Camp

Show Biz Kidz-

“Lullaby of Broadway” 2018

 

WOH Youth Summer Theatre Camp is an annual program designed to be an introduction to theatre performance for area youth with or without previous training or experience.  Students spend 4 weeks studying musical theatre technique including, singing, dancing, voice projection, characterization, theatre terminology, and theatre etiquette and professionalism. Students will develop performance skills and will be given an equal opportunity to shine on stage. The camp will culminate with performances of a Broadway -style musical revue.

 

For students who have completed

kindergarten -18years

Camp runs June 18 - July 15

Performances: July 13, 14, 15

 

Registration begins January 8, 2018
